ABB’s ACS560 drives help in sustainable and safe manufacture of vaccine

ABB India announced that the company’s ACS560 drives are playing a vital role in Bharat Biotech’s clean room infrastructure, where the company manufactures ‘Covaxin’, India’s first indigenous vaccine for Covid-19. Bharat Biotech supplied 20 million doses for the national vaccination roll-out in April and is targeting to produce 700 million doses per year.

Springfield enters potential $80K employment incentive agreement with Clark Co. manufacturer

The company has 60 employees and will be moving them from Esterline & Son’s location at Old Clifton Road, which is 18,000 square feet.

The employment incentive agreement states that Springfield will provide a grant to the manufacturer over a four year period. The reason for the agreement is due to Esterline & Sons plan to bring at least 55 jobs to the business park.

With those jobs moving to the new facility, the expectation is that Esterline & Sons will generate about $4 million in payroll and $40,000

Labor Day is a tribute to those who manufacture, build and grow

When many of us were growing up, Labor Day was the traditional end of summer, and we started back to school the next day.  Back in those days, political campaigns did not really begin until Labor Day.  I recall President Reagan kicking off his 1980 campaign on Labor Day with the Statue of Liberty behind him and Nancy beside him.  Since then, many things have changed, including a much earlier start-to-school date and year-round campaigning.

What has not changed – although it may be forgotten – is that we observe Labor Day in honor of those who labor.

The Government has agreed to allow some building product manufacturing to take place in Auckland during Covid lockdown to support continued residential construction activity across New Zealand.

Auckland’s extended lockdown has hit the building sector hard with some sites grinding to a standstill as materials dried up.

Deputy Prime Minister Grant Robertson said supply chain issues had arisen from alert level 4 as building products that were manufactured domestically were mostly manufactured in Auckland.
