Bombardier Strikes Lowest Bid to Manufacture Metro 4 and 4A Coaches

Leading producer of transport infrastructure and coaches, Bombardier has hit the lowest bid for manufacturing 234 new coaches meant for the Metro 4 (Wadala-Thane-Kasarvadavli) as well as its extension, Metro line 4A (Kasarvadavli-Gaimukh). 

Previously, a Chinese firm named CRRC Corporation Ltd was also in the running to be one of the manufacturers, but officials from the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) said that the company did not qualify. 

MMRDA Commissioner, RA Rajeev confirmed the developments said that Bombardier has been chosen as L1 or the lowest bidder, adding that the bidding process is ongoing for the tender
